Yankees May Pass On Free-Agent Outfielders
2 years agoThe New York Yankees may pass on the remaining free-agent left fielders such as Jurickson Profar, David Peralta and Corey Dickerson because they want to stay below the $293 million "Steven Cohen tax" threshold -- they are currently sitting at $290 million. The Yanks aren't opposed to giving Oswaldo Cabrera and Estevan Florial a shot in left field next year. Manager Aaron Boone also talked about Giancarlo Stanton potentially playing more outfield "in spurts" in 2023. Even if the Bronx Bombers don't add another free agent this offseason, they've already had a pretty good winter by retaining first baseman Anthony Rizzo and MVP Aaron Judge while bolstering the top of their starting rotation with left-hander Carlos Rodon.
