Yankees Acquiring Tim Locastro From Diamondbacks
3 years agoThe New York Yankees are acquiring right-handed outfielder Tim Locastro from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday for Double-A pitcher Keegan Curtis. Locastro will add speed (100th percentile speed at that) for the Yankees and become a defensive center field option. The 28-year-old is hitting just .178/.271/.220 with one homer in 118 at-bats this year, but he does have five stolen bases. Because he's unlikely to see a ton of playing time in the Bronx, Locastro still won't have a ton of fantasy appeal outside of deep AL-only leagues for his elite speed. The right-handed Curtis had posted a 3.94 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 27/7 K/BB in 16 relief innings over 12 outings for Double-A Somerset so far in 2021.
