X-Rays Come Back Negative on Joey Loperfido
Joey Loperfido (thumb) after he jammed his left thumb in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to Shi Dividi of Sportsnet. Loperfido initially stayed in the game after injuring his thumb on a play at the plate in the fourth inning before eventually coming out of the contest. The 26-year-old provided three hits, including a home run, before departing, so it wasn't all bad for him. Loperfido probably will not be in the lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader, but since he escaped any major damage, it's possible he'll be back in there for Wednesday's game at Camden Yards. He came into Tuesday's games with only 16 games played in the big leagues, but he was hitting .341 before his three-hit day with two homers and seven RBI.
