Wilyer Abreu Retreats To The Bench
1 year agoBoston Red Sox rookie outfielder Wilyer Abreu will get a day off on Friday against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. Masataka Yoshida is playing left field and batting cleanup, with Justin Turner serving as the designated hitter and batting third against Dodgers right-hander Lance Lynn. Abreu has burst on the scene in his first three big-league games this week, going 6-for-12 with a home run, two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored in his first 14 major-league plate appearances. The 24-year-old outfield prospect should continue to see decent playing time for Boston until Jarren Duran returns from a sprained toe on his left foot, making him attractive as a short-term option in deeper fantasy leagues.
