1 year agoBoston Red Sox rookie outfielder Wilyer Abreu, who is currently on the paternity list, is expected to rejoin the team on Friday in Kansas City for the start of a series against the Royals. Abreu was placed on paternity leave to begin the week on Monday, but the 24-year-old prospect will be back this weekend against the Royals. The team's No. 17 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has looked good in his first five MLB contests, going 6-for-17 with a home run, two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored. Now that we know that Jarren Duran (toe) is going to miss the remainder of the 2023 season, Abreu has some intriguing rest-of-season value in mixed leagues for his power from the left side of the plate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
