William Contreras Resting Against Cubs Thursday
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras is getting the day off on Thursday as the team takes on the visiting Chicago Cubs. Victor Caratini will do the catching and bat seventh in the lineup against Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman. After making the All-Star for the first time in his third MLB season in 2022, Contreras has hit .255 (63-for-247) with nine home runs, 13 doubles, a triple, 32 RBI and 37 runs scored in 281 plate appearances covering 68 games in his first year in Milwaukee as the primary catcher. He's off to a great start so far in July, going 7-for-17 (.412) with a homer, double, six RBI and four runs scored in only four games played. Caratini will offer very little DFS upside with just 35 career home runs in seven big-league seasons.
