Vegas Golden Knights forward William Carrier (upper body) will not be in the starting lineup for Thursday's contest on the road against the San Jose Sharks. Carrier sustained an upper-body injury in Tuesday's season opener versus the Seattle Kraken and did not travel with the club to San Jose. The 28-year-old enjoyed a career year in the 2022-23 season, notching 16 goals and 25 points across 56 games while also skating a career-high 12:35 per game. Prior to departing Tuesday's contest, Carrier played just 5:09 but put three shots on goal and took a holding penalty. Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy said Carrier is still being looked at and a timetable for his return is uncertain at this point.--Brenton Kemp
