Will Bears Consider Re-Signing Mitchell Trubisky?
4 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has played some of the best football in his career recently and has made a case to be re-signed after he had his fifth-year option declined before the season, according to some NFL executives. If the Bears win their final two games, they'll clinch a playoff berth, which would make Trubisky's chances of re-signing even greater. The Bears are 24-12 in games that Trubisky has started under head coach Matt Nagy, while they are 3-7 under Nagy when Trubisky doesn't start. The team is 2-5 this year under Nick Foles, averaging just 17 points in those games. The offense is averaging 31 points over its last four games under Trubisky. In an excellent draw against the one-win Jaguars on Sunday, Trubisky is a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 for fantasy managers. He has completed 68 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and three interceptions in the last four games.
