3 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are calling up third base prospect Jake Burger from Triple-A Charlotte after Yoan Moncada bruised his hand in the game on Thursday. Moncada is expected to miss the next three games over the weekend against the Detroit Tigers. Burger, 25, has hit .471/.518/.843 in his last 12 games at Charlotte. The team's No. 11 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has persevered through two Achilles tears to make it to the Show, and he was also named to the All-Star Futures Game. The former first-round pick has nine multi-hit performances in his last 12 games, including 10 extra-base hits. With Moncada looking at a possible injured list stint, Burger could be a short-term power option in AL-only leagues in a strong White Sox lineup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
