Wander Franco Doesn't Disappoint In Triple-A Debut
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco, the top prospect in baseball, finished 3-for-5 with a triple, two singles, two RBI and a steal in his first game action with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday night. Franco hit .327 across two minor league levels in 114 games in 2019. He has been rated with the highest hit tool by scouts, and the Rays have worked on his defensive versatility in order to keep his bat in the lineup every day. He has primarily played shortstop in his career, but Tampa Bay has given him repetitions at second and third base at the alternate training site. We'll continue to keep an eye on baseball's best prospect as the summer nears, but if Franco continues to hit at Triple-A, we could see him make his major league debut sooner rather than later.
