Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Enters As Pinch-Hitter Thursday
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (knee) didn't start again on Thursday against the New York Yankees, but he entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and had a sacrifice fly in the 4-2 loss. Guerrero hasn't started a game since Tuesday, when he left that contest early due to right-knee discomfort, but he took some swings and did some running before Thursday's game and could return to the starting lineup on Friday. The 24-year-old slugger's MRI also came back clean, and the fact that Toronto used him as a pinch-hitter on Thursday speaks to the fact that he should be back any day now. When Guerrero does return, he needs to be inserted right back into all starting fantasy lineups.
