Vidal Brujan Debuting In Game 1 Of Doubleheader
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays infield prospect Vidal Brujan is starting at second base and hitting fifth in his major league debut in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday against Cleveland Indians right-hander J.C. Mejia. Brujan, the team's No. 2 prospect behind Wander Franco, was hitting .259/.344/.471 with nine home runs, 37 runs scored, 29 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 19 attempts in 49 games for Triple-A Durham before getting the call-up on Wednesday. It's unclear exactly how much playing time he'll receive or how long he'll be up with Manuel Margot (hamstring) on the injured list, but Brujan's elite speed makes him a must-add in most fantasy formats, at least for the short term. The 23-year-old has stolen 166 bases in six minor league seasons.
