Vaughn Grissom Hitting Seventh In Season Debut
2 years agoAtlanta Braves middle infielder Vaughn Grissom is starting at shortstop and is hitting seventh in his season debut in the big leagues on Friday against the Kansas City Royals and right-hander Brady Singer. Grissom, who impressed offensively in a short stint in his big-league debut last year, will be the team's starting shortstop moving forward with Orlando Arcia (wrist) on the injured list. The 22-year-old isn't great defensively, but he was hitting .366 with a home run and two stolen bases in 10 games for Triple-A Gwinnett before his call-up. Grissom is currently rostered in 54 percent of Yahoo leagues, but that number should be going up as we get into the weekend, especially if he gets off to a hot start with the Braves in 2023.
