Tyrion Davis-Price Could Serve As Backup RB
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Tyrion Davis-Price could serve as the No. 2 running back behind Christian McCaffrey (knee) in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins with Elijah Mitchell (knee) out six to eight weeks with an MCL sprain. Davis-Price has been a healthy scratch the last three games, but both he and fellow rookie Jordan Mason should see expanded roles with Mitchell out and McCaffrey also dealing with knee irritation. The 22-year-old last saw action as CMC's backup in Week 7, handling just two carries for four yards on 13 offensive snaps. Even if McCaffrey plays this Sunday against the Dolphins, Davis-Price could have his biggest role of the season. He's worth a waiver-wire pickup this week, even if you don't have McCaffrey rostered.
