Tyrese Maxey Goes Off For Career-High 39 Points

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey made the most of his first NBA start, dropping a career-high 39 points in a losing effort. Maxey added seven rebounds, six assists, three triples, and two steals in 44 minutes. Philadelphia was severely shorthanded in this contest, with only seven healthy players after Seth Curry's positive COVID-19 test and the injuries to Joel Embiid (back) and Ben Simmons (knee). Maxey showed an ability to slice to the rim, shoot the jumper, and set up his teammates- though he most impressively didn't have a turnover until the third quarter. Philadelphia should be at full strength sooner rather than later, though Maxey deserves a look in redraft leagues for as long as they are shorthanded.
