Tyrell Williams Not At Practice Wednesday
3 years agoDetroit Lions wide receiver Tyrell Williams (head) was not seen during the 20 minutes of practice open to the media on Wednesday. Williams took a helmet-to-helmet shot from San Francisco 49ers safety Jaquiski Tartt in the Week 1 loss, and he has since been put in the league's concussion protocol. It's bad news for a team with one of the thinnest receiving corps in the league after losing Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones Jr., Danny Amendola, Marvin Hall, Jamal Agnew and Mohamed Sanu in the offseason. If Williams cannot play on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers, the Lions will likely replace him with some combination of Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson. Kalif Raymond and rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown would be starters in three-wide sets. Detroit will likely be forced to throw the ball often, but Raymond and St. Brown would be merely dart throws in DFS and deeper leagues. Tight end T.J. Hockenson should continue to eat.
