Tylor Megill To Start On Saturday Against Marlins
2 years agoWith New York Mets starting pitcher Justin Verlander (shoulder) opening the year on the 15-day injured list, right-hander Tylor Megill will now start on Saturday against the Miami Marlins. The 27-year-old now becomes an attractive pickup in deeper leagues and a potential streamer this weekend. However, he'll need to pitch better than he did last year and this spring to keep his spot in the starting rotation for however long Verlander is out. Megill had a 5.13 ERA (3.77 FIP), 1.25 WHIP and 25.5 percent strikeout rate in 47 1/3 innings over 15 outings (nine starts) for the Mets in his second big-league season in 2022. He gave up 10 runs (seven earned) on 14 hits while walking 13 and striking out 12 over 17 innings in Grapefruit League action.
