Tyler White Slugging .446 In September
6 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter/first baseman Tyler White has cooled off a touch after a scorching month of August but is still slugging .446 in September heading into Monday. White has 14 runs batted in through 19 September games and has five doubles over his last 12 games. White has been fantastic in the 45 games since the All-Star break, slashing .308/.373/.604 with three triples, 10 home runs, 11 doubles, 25 runs scored and 38 runs batted in. He has come out of nowhere to become a viable asset in fantasy in the final months and seems like a lock now to make the playoff roster. He is hitting only .217 over his last 23 at-bats but is slugging .517 against right-handed pitching this season. The Astros will play the Blue Jays beginning Monday and Toronto will send to the mound right-hander Marco Estrada.
