Even though Tyler Reddick entered yesterday's Martinsville race ahead of Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex, Jr. in points, he seemed an extreme long shot to advance to the Championship 4 from the get-go. This is because he was rarely ever better than mediocre at Martinsville or paved short tracks in general. Meanwhile, the four drivers he was chasing (William Byron, Ryan Blaney, Hamlin, and Truex) all were much stronger. Also, Reddick had never finished better than eighth or ever led a lap at a track where he probably needed to win. Although Reddick remains exceptional on road courses and intermediates, he hasn't quite mastered the short tracks. Regardless, he has still had a strong season.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerRead More News
