Ty France Back In Wednesday's Lineup
Seattle Mariners first baseman Ty France (wrist) is starting at first base and is batting fifth in the lineup on Wednesday against the visiting Oakland Athletics and right-hander Zach Neal. France was removed from Tuesday's contest against Oakland early in the game as a precaution after he was hit on his left wrist during a pickoff attempt. The injury never looked too serious, and the 29-year-old won't have to miss any additional time. He hasn't been nearly as good as he was in 2022 in his only All-Star season, but he's batting a strong .281 (25-for-89) with three home runs, six doubles, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored in 26 games (25 starts) in the month of August. France has gone 10-for-35 (.286) with two doubles and an RBI in 10 starts since Aug. 19.
