Twins Call Up Trevor Larnach
4 years agoThe Minnesota Twins called up outfielder Trevor Larnach, the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, on Friday after Byron Buxton (hip) landed on the injured list with a hip strain. Larnach will be making his MLB debut after going 3-for-13 (.231) with four RBI, including home runs in each of his last two games, for Triple-A St. Paul. He hit .309 (147-for-476) with 30 doubles, 13 home runs and an .842 OPS in 127 games with High-A Fort Myers and Double-A Pensacola in 2019. The No. 69 overall prospect in baseball was the 20th overall pick in 2018 out of Oregon State and could see regular playing time with both Buxton and fellow prospect Alex Kirilloff sidelined. Left-hander Brandon Waddell was designated for assignment to make room for Larnach on the roster. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter is absolutely worth a speculative pickup off the waiver wire if you need outfield help.
