Twins Avoid Arbitration With Gary Sanchez
3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Gary Sanchez agreed on a one-year, $9 million deal on Thursday to avoid salary arbitration, according to sources. Sanchez has been Minnesota's primary catcher in 2022 after being acquired from the New York Yankees in the offseason. He will never hit for a high average because of his swing-and-miss tendencies, but Sanchez has plenty of power at a weak fantasy position. In his first 44 games with the Twins, he's slashing .224/.282/.435 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 16 runs scored and one stolen base in 177 plate appearances.
