Twins Are All In On Re-Signing Carlos Correa
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins are all in on trying to re-sign shortstop Carlos Correa and have already made multiple contract offers to him. Correa opted out of his $35.1 million option for the 2023 season, but they're trying to bring him back on varying contract offers that have ranged from six to 10 years in length. It would probably be a surprise if he returned, with the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers and others interested in his services. The New York Post's Jon Heyman also notes that the Twins' involvement with free-agent left-hander Carlos Rodon likely will only become a reality if Correa doesn't re-sign in Minnesota. The 28-year-old slashed a strong .291/.366/.467 with an .834 OPS, 22 home runs, 64 RBI and 70 runs scored in 522 at-bats in what could be his only season with the Twins.
