Tutu Atwell Competing For No. 3 Receiver Job
1 year agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell and rookie Puka Nacua are likely competing in training camp for the No. 3 wideout role behind Cooper Kupp (hamstring) and Van Jefferson (knee). Nacua saw a significant workload in the spring despite his rookie status, and that hasn't changed. He'll vault into an even larger role over the next couple weeks with Kupp sidelined. Nacua has impressed the coaches, but ideally, Atwell will be the team's full-time No. 3 this year. Winning the No. 3 job will mean Atwell will need to become more versatile in head coach Sean McVay's three-receiver sets. He is already playing multiple receiving positions into training camp. Atwell also has a better idea of how to use his smaller frame to his advantage as a blocker. The 23-year-old shouldn't be drafted in standard-sized fantasy leagues, but there's no doubt he's going to have a bigger role in 2023.
