Tua Tagovailoa Still In Concussion Protocol
2 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol and will not take part in next week's Pro Bowl, according to a source. Tagovailoa was named the first alternate at QB for the Pro Bowl. He initially entered the protocol on Dec. 26 for the second time this year after suffering a concussion on Christmas Day. Tagovailoa ended up missing the final four games of the season, including a wild-card loss in the playoffs. However, there haven't been any setbacks as the team prioritizes his long-term healthy. Injuries have been an issue early in his career, but the 24-year-old third-year signal-caller had career-highs in passing yards and touchdowns in 2022 while leading the NFL in passer rating. The Dolphins have already committed to Tagovailoa as their starter in 2023 and have until May 1 to pick up his fifth-year option.
