Tua Tagovailoa Showing Growth?

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa ranks in the bottom seven in completion percentage, passing yards per game, passing yards per attempt, touchdown-to-interception ratio and passer rating among 25 QBs with 10-plus starts since Week 8 of last season. However, he has shown more playmaking ability in 2021 and ranks 17th in QBR, ahead of Russell Wilson and Joe Burrow, among others. But to convince the Miami brass that he's the future of the franchise under center, Tagovailoa needs to show better decision-making and take more deep shots -- he's attempted deep balls at the third-lowest rate among QBs with 400-plus attempts since 2020. Miami's offensive line, which has allowed the most QB pressures (145) in the league, hasn't helped the second-year QBs cause. But if Tua can stay healthy the rest of the way, he has a chance to turn some heads, beginning in a great Week 11 matchup against the New York Jets.
