Major League Baseball will bring back alternate training sites similar to those used in 2020, a long-awaited move that will delay the start of the Triple-A minor league season by at least a month. Games will be pushed back to around the same time as Double-A and Single-A are expected to start in the first week of May, according to sources. MLB's Opening Day won't be affected by the move and remains on pace for 15 games on April 1. Some executives think the alternate sites could last longer into the season, as the proximity to teams' home stadiums makes it easier for testing and COVID-19 protocols. Teams hope the delay will allow for the vaccination of players before they're sent to their minor league affiliates. To make up for lost games in April, Triple-A teams expect their seasons to run into September.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
