Trey Sermon Cleared And In Line To Start In Week 3
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Trey Sermon (concussion) has been cleared from the league's concussion protocol and is in line to start on Sunday night in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers with Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) doubtful and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) already ruled out. Sermon wasn't listed on the final injury report for Week 3. The 22-year-old rookie was a healthy scratch in the season opener and had just one carry before suffering a head injury in the Week 2 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. That doesn't inspire much confidence for fantasy managers, but Trenton Cannon and Jacques Patrick are the only other healthy backs on the active roster currently, so Sermon should see plenty of touches Sunday night. Consider him an RB3/flex in deeper leagues in his first career start.
