Trey Lance Won't Run At Pro Day
4 years agoNorth Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance, who is expected to be selected in the first round of the upcoming NFL draft, will not run or do agility drills at his school's Pro Day this Friday. Teams have told Lance's camp that they're more interested in seeing him throw. Lance won the starting job as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and threw for 2,786 yards, 28 touchdowns and no interceptions while running for 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns. The talent is clearly there, but there are concerns about him starting only 17 games in college against lesser competition. Going in his favor is the fact that the Bisons ran a pro-style offense. Lance has been compared to Andrew Luck and Josh Allen for his cannon of an arm but also his ability to take off and use his legs. If he can improve on his accuracy, he'll have an extremely high ceiling at the next level.
