Trey Lance Looking Good During Offseason Workouts
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (finger) suffered a hairline fracture of his right index finger in the 2021 preseason, and it proved to be a major setback that severely limited his throwing ability for more than a year, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The head coach said Lance's lower body is fine and he's been throwing the ball very well at the start of the offseason program because his finger is no longer an issue, either. "He was able to get such a better base in these last two months that I think Trey is the best that we've (seen) him right now," Shanahan said. Still, if he's healthy by the start of the regular season, Brock Purdy (elbow) is going to be the team's starter at QB. Lance, the third overall pick in 2021, could need a trade out of San Fran to regain fantasy appeal in single-year and dynasty/keeper leagues.
