Trevor Hauver, Beck Way Conclude Yankees 2020 Draft
5 years agoThe New York Yankees selected Arizona State second baseman Trevor Hauver with the 99th overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. The Yanks closed out their draft by selecting Northwest Florida State right-handed pitcher Beck Way in the fourth round (129th overall). New York had only three draft picks in 2020. Hauver has a chance to hit for average and power at the next level from the left side of the plate and has a solid overall approach as a hitter. The 21-year-old doesn't have a set position on defense and could bounce around at second base, left field or first base. Way is long and lean and uses a three-quarters delivery for three potential above-average offerings. His command has been better as a starter, but his fastball-slider combination could also play up in a bullpen role down the line.
