Trea Turner Getting A Breather Against Marlins
4 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner is retreating to the bench for Wednesday's matchup at Citizens Bank Park against the visiting Miami Marlins. With Turner getting the day off, Edmundo Sosa is starting at the 6 and batting seventh for the Phils against Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera. This will be Turner's first day off since July 31, and it's a good time to give him a blow with the 31-year-old All-Star shortstop struggling offensively of late. Turner is always a must-start in fantasy when he's active, but he's gone 8-for-47 (.170) with two doubles, two RBI, one walk, a stolen base and seven strikeouts in 11 games to begin the month of August. Sosa will be a low-upside DFS sleeper at the bottom of the Phillies' batting order on Wednesday in a tough matchup. Sosa has six homers, 26 RBI and six steals in his 196 at-bats this year.
