Travis d'Arnaud Resting Friday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud is not in the team's starting lineup on Friday against the San Diego Padres. Sean Murphy will do the catching and hit fifth in the order against Padres right-hander Nick Martinez. Marcell Ozuna will draw into the lineup as the designated hitter while batting eighth in the lineup. This will be d'Arnaud's first day off on the young season. The 34-year-old veteran is off to a great start offensively, going 11-for-31 (.355) with three doubles, five RBI and three runs scored in seven games played. Ozuna hasn't seen much playing time with d'Arnaud mostly serving as the DH, and he's also gone just 1-for-17 (.059) with a solo home run and six strikeouts in the early going.
