Travis d'Arnaud Beginning Rehab Assignment Friday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud (concussion) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday. After some struggles with concussion symptoms after suffering a head injury almost a month ago, d'Arnaud has been cleared by doctors to start playing in minor-league games. As long as the 34-year-old doesn't see a return of concussion symptoms, specifically headaches, he should be ready to return from the injured list sometime next week. He was hitting a strong .333 (11-for-33) with three doubles and five RBI in eight games before his injury. When d'Arnaud returns to the Braves, he'll be splitting time behind the dish with Sean Murphy and could also be eased in as the designated hitter.
