Touki Toussaint To Start On Tuesday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Touki Toussaint will now start on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres after the game on Monday was postponed due to inclement weather. Kyle Muller, who was originally scheduled to pitch on Monday, will now start Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader, with Charlie Morton set to go in Game 2. Toussaint will be making his season debut with the Braves in a very tough matchup. The 25-year-old has struggled in his three seasons with the Braves and had a rough 8.88 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 30/16 K/BB in seven outings (five starts) over 24 1/3 innings in 2020. Overall, he has a 5.97 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, 24.3 percent strikeout rate and bloated 14.3 percent walk rate in 95 major league innings. In six starts between High-A Rome, Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett this year, Toussaint has a 4.24 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 31 strikeouts to 14 walks in 23 1/3 innings. Fantasy managers would be wise to stay away.
