Torey Krug Scores In Loss, Continues Strong Postseason
7 years agoBoston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug scored in Monday’s Game 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The goal came late in regulation and drew the Bruins within one, but the comeback effort concluded there. With the goal, Krug separated himself from the idle Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson for the lead in points by defensemen across all teams. Krug has three goals, also tying him with San Jose Sharks blue liner Brent Burns for the league lead in that category to go along with seven assists. His 10 points matches his career-high postseason output of the 2013-14 season. He’s matched it in three fewer games and still has the opportunity to add more. Krug has been an excellent DFS player and should be started in Game 3 as the series shifts to TD Garden, where Krug tallied 59 percent of his 59 regular season points.
