New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (back) didn't play in the team's preseason opener on Thursday against the Redskins because he's dealing with a sore back, according to a league source. He's also had a lighter practice workload in the last week. The Pats are most likely being extra cautious with Tom Terrific, and he probably wouldn't have played much, if at all, on Thursday.
