Todd Gurley Says He's Not Hurt

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley told NFL Network analyst and Rams radio color commentator Maurice Jones-Drew this week that he's not hurt, but Jones-Drew said the team is planning to use Gurley less in 2019 in order to keep him fresh all year. "I think you can expect (22 touches per game). But he may not be on the field for 80 snaps," Jones-Drew said. Gurley played 75.8 percent of the regular season offensive snaps last year (56.6 snaps per game), and he's averaged 22.7 touches, 135.3 total yards and 1.4 touchdowns per game the last two seasons. However, he played just 56.2 percent of the snaps in the postseason last year. The Rams fully intend on using Malcolm Brown and rookie Darrell Henderson in the backfield to keep Gurley fresh, which makes him much more of a risk as a high-end RB1 in the first round of fantasy drafts.
