Thairo Estrada Scratched On Wednesday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Thairo Estrada (shin) has been scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup after fouling a ball off his left shin on Monday. Estrada's injury isn't considered serious, but the Giants will play it safe and give him another day off. David Villar is now playing second base and batting third against Chicago White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease, while J.D. Davis gets the start at third base and hits sixth in the lineup. The 27-year-old Estrada is off to a strong start for the Gigantes in 2023, going 6-for-16 (.375) with a homer, two RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in his first four contests. Villar has become a popular early season pickup in deeper leagues, too, slugging two home runs and driving in five in his first 14 at-bats of the season.
