Texans Expected To Draft QB With No. 2 Overall Pick
2 years agoThe Houston Texans have every intention of drafting a quarterback with the second overall pick in this year's draft, according to league sources familiar with the Texans' plan. It's pretty obvious, as Davis Mills is the only current signal-caller on the roster heading into the new league year. Mills finished tied for the league lead in interceptions with 15, while also leading the NFL in fourth-quarter picks. The next QB must fit new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik's system. He spent last year as the pass-game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and will run a West Coast offense similar to the Niners. The most popular QB options in the draft are Alabama's Bryce Young, Ohio State's C.J. Stroud and Kentucky's Will Levis. The Chicago Bears have the first pick and are set at QB with Justin Fields, but they could also trade the pick to another QB-needy team.
