Teddy Bridgewater Hasn't Separated Himself In QB Competition
3 years agoDenver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio called the quarterback competition between Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock "still even Steven" last week. Fangio also added that "there's been no separation" between the two signal-callers. Bridgewater and Lock continue to split the snaps evenly at practices, but we should get a better idea of who the favorite is once the coaches begin evaluating their preseason performances. Bridgewater has more experience in the NFL than Lock and has been good at limiting turnovers, although he led the league with five red-zone turnovers in his lone season in Carolina in 2020. Lock has better physical tools, but the Broncos may opt for more of a game manager in Bridgewater if Lock doesn't win the job this summer. Even though Denver's offense has some dangerous weapons, Bridgewater would be an uninspiring QB2 with limited upside if he eventually wins the job to open the season.
