Teams Interested In Yoenis Cespedes Trade
5 years agoThe New York Mets have had teams reach out to them in the past week concerning a potential trade for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, according to a source. There is nothing close or imminent, but some initial conversations have taken place after the Mets restructured Cespedes' contract. The Cuban slugger missed the entire 2019 season due to injuries to his heels and ankle, and he played in a combined 119 games in 2017 and 2018 with the Mets due to injuries. When healthy, though, Cespedes is an impact power bat in the middle of a batting order. He's streaky, too, which makes him a fantasy headache with the injuries added in. He's hoping to be ready for the start of the 2020 season, but even the Mets are unsure if that'll actually happen. A change of scenery would be the best scenario for everyone involved.
