Taylor Russolino Predictably Fails Against Bills
4 years agoDenver Broncos kicker Taylor Russolino, who most recently kicked in the XFL, was forced to make his NFL debut on Saturday against the Bills with regular kicker Brandon McManus still on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. McManus had appeared in 111 of the team's 112 games since 2014 and had missed just two kicks all year -- both from 50-plus yards. So Russolino had to fill big shoes, which he failed to do. The former XFL kicker missed his only field-goal attempt from 42 yards out and made just one of his three extra points in the 48-19 loss to Buffalo. McManus has a big leg and is very accurate, but the Broncos offense hasn't been consistent enough to make him anything more than a low-ceiling streamer in a good matchup. He should return for Week 16 against the Chargers and will be in the streaming picture after he made four field goals against LA back in Week 8.
