Taylor Clarke Records His First Save On Thursday
Taylor Clarke closed out the team's 5-2, 10-inning victory over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday to earn his first save of the year. He retired the side in order in the 10th inning, recording two strikeouts along the way. This was his second save opportunity of the year, but he failed to convert his first one, which was also a 10th inning save opportunity. As with last year, the Royals have a somewhat cryptic bullpen. Josh Staumont leads the team with two saves while Clarke and Scott Barlow are the only other Royals relievers with a save. Staumont seems like he's at the top of the closer hierarchy for the team, but Barlow is very much in the picture. Clarke may be next up after that duo, but he's not someone worthy of rostering in any fantasy formats for now.
