T.J. Brodie Set To Miss Two Weeks
2 years agoToronto Maple Leafs defenseman T.J. Brodie will miss at least two weeks with an oblique injury. He was a late scratch for Saturday's matchup against Vancouver and now won't be available for a minimum of seven games. The team has placed him on Injured Reserve. According to general manager Kyle Dubas, the 32-year-old is dealing with a similar oblique injury that saw Toronto captain John Tavares miss a couple of weeks after getting injured in a preseason game. In Brodie, the team loses a big defensive presence, with him having registered 20 blocks and 17 hits in 15 outings this season. Offensively, he's been able to log two assists. Jordie Benn replaced Brodie on the first defensive pairing at the weekend and ended up celebrating his team debut with a goal. He is set to resume in the role for the time being. However, fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to get on the score sheet regularly, as the veteran has managed only 136 points in 596 career appearances.
