Los Angeles Kings forward Ilya Kovalchuk put a game-high five shots on net but was unable to convert on any of them, giving him his sixth consecutive game without a goal. Kovalchuk has three goalless streaks of at least six games last year on his way to a career-low 0.25 goals per game rate. Now with only three goals in 14 games, Kovalchuk is on pace to fall below even that rate this season. After scoring two goals and six points in his first four games this season, Kovalchuk has only put up two assists in the following 10 games, dampening any hopes that he would return to form this season. At 36 years old, Kovalchuk can still be productive in small stretches but holds almost no value in any format.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
