Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos has expressed his displeasure regarding his contract situation, with the team not offering him an extension over the summer. "To be honest, I've been disappointed in the lack of talk in that regard," Stamkos said Wednesday. "It was something that I expressed at the end of last year that I wanted to get something done before training camp started. There haven't been any conversations." Stamkos is set to complete an eight-year, $68 million deal with the 2023-24 campaign. Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois noted in his response that he wants to see how the season pans out before making any contractual decisions. Stamkos owns a host of franchise records in Tampa Bay and has still been going strong during the twilight of his career. The Lightning captain, who will turn 34 in February, notched 84 points in 81 games last season and posted a career-high 106 points just two campaigns ago.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
