Steve Cishek Picks Up Save No. 6
6 years agoChicago Cubs reliever Steve Cishek recorded his sixth save of the season on Wednesday versus the Rockies. Cishek allowed a double Trevor Story and then a RBI single to David Dahl, but settled down and retired the next three batters. The Cubs activated closer Pedro Strop on Tuesday and he recorded the save, but they didn’t want to use him in back-to-back games just yet. Strop is the Cubs closer for now, but with the signing of Craig Kimbrel on Wednesday, both Strop and Cishek are likely to receive fewer save chances in the near future.
