Stephen Strasburg Throws Long Toss Tuesday
3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg (neck) threw long toss from 300 feet on Tuesday, just one day after he threw off a mound. Manager Dave Martinez said the team will try to get Strasburg another bullpen session on Thursday or Friday. It's a great sign of Strasburg's progress, and we should have a better idea on his timetable for a return later in the week after he throws a bullpen session. The 33-year-old has a chance to return early next month, but fantasy managers shouldn't get their hopes up after he's already suffered a setback. Strasburg struggled in his five starts before the injury (4.57 ERA and 1.38 WHIP), but he hasn't really been healthy since he won a career-high 18 games in 2019. Continue to stash him in all formats, as he could be a difference-maker down the stretch if he's fully healthy.
