5 years agoTrade talks surrounding Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte are intensifying, according to sources. The Mets and Padres have both been interested, and there's a chance that a deal gets done before spring training. Marte wouldn't mind a trade to a contender. The 31-year-old can contribute across the board from fantasy owners and would benefit from having a better lineup around him. He slashed an impressive .295/.342/.503 with 23 home runs, 97 runs scored, 82 RBI and 25 stolen bases in 539 at-bats with Pittsburgh in 2019. His 20-homer, 20-steal ability will keep him relevant in the early rounds of drafts no matter where he's playing. Marte has stolen at least 21 bases in each of the last seven seasons, reaching the 30-steal mark three times and the 40-steal peak twice.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
